Hypnosis is a process that allows a person’s conscious and subconscious minds to believe the same message. During hypnosis, the body and conscious mind are in a relaxed state, while the subconscious mind remains awake, alert, and receptive to suggestion.

What is hypnosis?

Many people have experienced times when their conscious and subconscious minds weren’t “on the same page.” Let’s look at smoking as an example. Most smokers know many reasons why they should quit smoking — health concerns or social stigma — and yet they still smoke. Despite their strong desire to quit, it seems like no amount of “will power” can overcome this habit. If there’s been a change that you’ve tried in vain to make, you’ve probably experienced something very similar.

That’s where hypnosis comes in.

Hypnosis provides access to that “part” of the mind where your habits and ingrained beliefs are formed, allowing real, permanent change takes place.

What will my session be like? How many sessions will we have?

Hypnotherapy sessions tend to be very pleasant and relaxing. You and the hypnotist will talk for a few minutes, then your hypnotist will begin to help you become hypnotized. You’ll sit in the hypnosis chair, close your eyes, relax, and just listen as the hypnotist talks to you and leads you naturally and easily into hypnosis.

When you are hypnotized, you are always in control. It is impossible for any hypnotist to make you do anything that you don’t want to do. You will remember your session and be able to talk about it afterward. This may be a surprise to you if most of what you know about hypnosis comes from TV and the movies, but it’s true.

The number of sessions you’ll have depends on what your goal is and how you’re already thinking about your success with that goal. Whatever your goal, we’ll work together to get you what you want from life.
